Making an Effort

Making and Effort : charcoal and pastel still life drawing

It seems it is time to reacquaint myself with my hairdresser to get the annual hairdo, for the artist's reception for "Carbon Footprints" is fast approaching

I hope you can suspend your New Year's resolution on Sunday 16th 11-1pm, to stop by and share in the celebratory pie, cookies and other naughty nibblies. (the celery, cottage cheese and cardboard diet will resume on Monday)

If distance and weather prevents you from enjoying a slice of frozen New Jersey, then kick back with a tub of ice cream and sample the show from your sofa at Carbon Footprints

You are cordially invited to "a celebration of heart"

a selection of "h'Art Work" from Exhibitors' Co-op Opening Reception : Wednesday January 20, 5-8pm

good lord, January has been a busy month - yup - another art show opening

This time I am offering you a chance to indulge in a little romance, desire and passion to celebrate American Heart Month as well as Valentines Day.

My fellow Exhibitors' Co-op members have been busy creating over 50 works of art to warm your heart in this chilly season

There are pulsating abstract paintings; collages throbbing with color; the passion of "Heart Healthy" wine or the love of a freshly sharpened pencil.

We have the ethereal, wistful, romantic, cute and slightly bizarre - I guess love does funny things to us all.

For the PJ's and Fluffy Socks Brigade, I have put together a tasty morsel to enjoy by the fire. But for those of you hardy enough to brave the frozen delights of New Jersey this Midwinter, I do hope you can stop by to nibble on an indulgent strawberry or two and enjoy

I can't wash up - it's ART

color pencil still life drawing of dirty dishes

color pencil still life drawing of dirty dishes

This was one of those "found" still lifes (lives?) that snapped me awake from my everyday routine and sent me running for my camera, all alive and excited about washing up.

(any excuse not to actually do the chores)

Hot off the drawing table and into a frame, this still life is destined for the art show at the JCC this January.

If you are in West Orange, NJ this month, please stop by the Opening Reception on January 10 for some nibbles and a wee drinkie.

If you are not lucky enough to be sampling the frozen delights of New Jersey this Midwinter, you can hop over to the preview page to view the art - PJ's and fluffy socks welcome.

Other December news -  a HUGE thank you to Sarah Petruziello for her hard work organising the small works show BANG!4 this year. Much fun and joy as usual and another very successful year. Cheers m'dear!

Thank you for braving the weather to visit the opening of "Artscapes" at the Summit Medical Center.

And as we all know red spots have a habit of multiplying (well it is a Medical Center). Two more red SOLD spots had emerged by the end of the evening as Netté Thomas and Roberta Reynolds both sold pictures too.

You can enjoy a taste of summer at the Exhibitors' Co-op website www.exhibitorscoop.com/summer.html
